Usher Donates Vegan Meals To Those In Need
Usher has donated 2,000 vegan meals to the families in need during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The meals were prepared and distributed in collaboration with Veganaire - a vegan company run by Chef Shay. Veganaire aims to help people to switch to a vegan lifestyle.
The company creates meals using produce supplied by local businesses. The free meals are later donated to families most affected by the crisis.
"The cool thing about it is that kids love what they love—they love lasagna, they love meatballs, and even some of the parents love meatloaf, so I wanted to create something that I thought would be nourishing, but also filling and hearty," Usher said in a video he published on Twitter.
The musician also mentioned the importance of supporting local businesses.
"This is all about supporting local businesses, small businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs—those who are on the frontline and keeping the economy going," Usher said.
"Make sure you are paying it forward, as I said. Supporting a business that you love … They can't sustain without you."
Veganaire's project is also supported by vegan musician Jermaine Dupri and other private sponsors.
Last week, Usher revealed that he is following an entirely plant-based diet.
He said: "It's important to know that a healthy option is plant-based. I've actually started a journey myself. JD too is also a great supporter of plant-based as well as a vegan lifestyle."
