What restaurants are launching new menu items this Veganuary?

With Veganuary 2024 startig this week, brands across the UK are announcing some exciting special offers and new delicious menu items.

Greggs

The biggest bakery chain, Greggs, is bringing back its vegan steak bake after two years. First launched for Veganuary 2020, the vegan pastry is returning following the requests from fans on social media. Fans said they missed the iconic vegan pastry since it went off the menu.

Pizza Hut

The pizza chain has added new vegan topping options to its menu this month. The toppings feature plant-based meat from the famous American brand Beyond Meat. The toppings are available on the Big New Yorker Pizza, the Beyond Pepperoni Feast Pizza, and the Beyond Pepperoni Melt.

Burger King

The fast food giant has added a new vegan option to its menu for 2024. After listening to thousands of fans, the fast food chain is returning its iconic bean burger. The new, improved Ultimate Bean Burger has rolled out in restaurants nationwide. The chain claims it is better than ever. It is made with black beans, mushrooms, red pepper, and green chilli, with a crunchy tortilla chip crumb, topped with American vegan cheese, crispy lettuce, sliced tomatoes, vegan mayonnaise, and tangy tomato ketchup all inside a brioche-style bun.
Between January 5 and 8, the chain offers a special buy-one-get-one-free offer via the app. According to Burger King, the Ultimate Bean Burger it’s the chain’s ‘most requested product ever’.

Pizza Express

The popular Pizza chain has launched two vegan options for Veganuary. The new vegan Melanzane is made with grilled aubergine, tomato sauce, garlic, plant-based mozzarella, and fresh parsley. The new vegan calzone is made with roasted sweet peppers, aubergine, spinach, hot chilli, tomato, and garlic.

Costa Coffee

Costa Coffee has added five new plant-based products to its range for Veganuary 2024. The Plant-Based Saucy Chicken Fajita Wrap, Plant-Based Crackin’ Ham & Cheeze Toastie, Plant-Based Smashin’ Sausage Bap, Caramelised Biscuit Rocky Road and Double Chocolate Cookie were created in partnership with BOSH.

Papa Johns

Papa Johns has launched a new limited-edition vegan pizza.
The BBQ ‘Chicken’ is topped with vegan cheese, slices of plant-based ‘Chicken’ pieces, mushrooms, onions and a sweet and tangy BBQ drizzle.
Good news for vegans - you can choose the plant-based chicken topping on all the chain’s pizzas on the menu.
