THIS relaunches its 'most realistic' plant-based chicken
The “chicken-iest” vegan chicken ever lands on the supermarket shelves this week.
Plant-based meat brand THIS has relaunched its ‘Isn’t Chicken Pieces’ with a new reformulated recipe. The company claims they have created their “chicken-iest” tasting vegan chicken pieces yet.
The company’s R&D team spent 18 months working on the new plant-based chicken recipe. The new formula is made primarily of soya and fava bean protein. The team has removed pea protein along with other additives from the recipe.
The new vegan chicken has the most fibrous texture yet, created using the company’s signature extrusion technology. THIS Isnt’s chicken vegan pieces are high in protein and fibre but low in saturated fat and salt.
Andy Shovel, Co-founder and Co-CEO of THIS,said: “This recipe is now so similar to chicken, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mel Gibson wanted to do its voiceover.”
THIS Isn’t Chicken Pieces will be rolling out into major supermakets tomorrow and will also be available to buy online and for food service.
