Popular pizza chain Pizza Express has launched its new summer menu featuring a special vegan and gluten-free pizza.
The ‘Sloppy Vegan’ is made with Quorn plant-based chicken pieces and vegan mozzarella cheese. The new pizza is topped with green peppers, red onion, tomato, smoky chilli, garlic oil, and parsley.
Pizza Express and Quorn worked for two years to develop the new vegan product.
Quorn announced the news on Instagram saying: "Boom. An icon, reborn with Quorn. Shout out to @pizzaexpress, who we’ve been working with for the past 2 years to develop an exclusive Vegan & Gluten Free pizza, just for you guys to ENJOY ? Say hello to the brand NEW Sloppy Vegan. You can thank us later ?Now available nationwide."
Pizza Express' menu now includes 15 vegan main dishes and 6 vegan sides such as cheesy garlic bread and hot jalapeño dough balls.
The mains include Pea and Asparagus Risotto, Funghi Di Bosco Romana, Padana Romana and Leggera Giardiniera.
Zoe Bowley, managing director at PizzaExpress said: "With more innovation, fun, and flair, our new menus are central to our new look. The delicious new flavours available build on what know we are great at doing, whilst throwing in some exciting new inventions to make sure we come back with a bang!
“Focusing on what our loyal customers need, we have worked hard to ensure PizzaExpress' menu is tastier than ever – even spending two years to develop the Quorn to be the perfect vegan alternative to our famous Sloppy Giuseppe.
