Wild Elephant Organic Star Anise has a mild and fragrant sweet, peppery flavour, which is similar to liquorice. Star anise is made from the fruit of the evergreen Illicium verum tree grown in Asia.
With it's strong and distinctive flavour it's great for teas and infusions, as well as mulled wine.
It is rich in a variety of flavonoids and polyphenolic compounds, which may contribute to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.
It pairs well with savoury dishes such as soups, stews and curries.
