Black Cardamom is a popular Indian warming spice that comes in the form of seed pods. Its smoky aroma and concentrated flavour is obtained by traditional methods of drying over open flames.

Black cardamom is not as easy to grind as green cardamom, so the whole pod is most commonly used in cooking.

Instructions for Use: 

Aromatic and pungent in flavour, add black cardamom to classic Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine, as well as pickles, chutneys, stews, and curries. Especially suited to long-cooking dishes, which allow its flavour to develop to its fullest. The pods are best when added whole and removed before serving.
