Baobab comes from the fruit of the iconic African baobab tree. Uniquely, the fruit dries naturally on the branch, so the pulp simply needs to be sieved into a fine powder — making it one of the least processed superfoods available. It has a tangy, citrus-and-caramel flavour.
Baobab is high in fibre and a natural source of vitamin C, which contributes to the normal function of the immune system and helps reduce tiredness and fatigue. It's naturally low in fat, with a refreshing tartness that brightens smoothies, yoghurt and bakes.
Stir 1–2 teaspoons into smoothies, juices, water, yoghurt and porridge, or use it in raw treats and baking. Its citrus tang works particularly well with mango, pineapple, coconut and oats.
Tangy and citrusy with subtle caramel notes — a little like sherbet. It pairs well with tropical fruit, coconut and yoghurt.
Baobab fruit dries naturally inside its pod on the tree. The dried pulp is simply sieved into powder, with no heat treatment or additives.
A typical serving is 1–2 teaspoons (around 5–10g) per day, stirred into drinks or food.
