Nutritional yeast flakes – savoury, cheesy-tasting "nooch" fortified with vitamin B12, in packs from 125g to 25kg.

Made from a deactivated strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae grown on enriched, purified molasses, these golden flakes add a cheesy, nutty, savoury depth to plant-based cooking. They are fortified with B vitamins including 100mcg of vitamin B12 per 100g – a key nutrient for vegans – and provide 47g of protein and 20g of fibre per 100g, with just 0.1g of salt.

What does nutritional yeast taste like? Savoury, nutty and distinctly cheesy – which is why it is the usual dairy-free stand-in for grated cheese.

Is it the same as baking yeast? No. Nutritional yeast is deactivated, so it will not make bread rise – it is used purely as a seasoning and condiment.

How much B12 does it contain? 100mcg of vitamin B12 (added as cyanocobalamin) per 100g of flakes, alongside fortified B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and folic acid.
