A medium-bodied Red, full of vibrant notes of red fruit, with a lovely deep and aromatic core.
A rich and fleshy wine, fruity in its first years and will reveal its powerful soul after a few years of ageing.
Full of bright strawberry and red cherry notes, this fragrant wine pairs beautifully with pasta dishes and casseroles.
Domaine de la Chaponne is a wonderful family Domaine of 14 hectares run by Laurent and Laurence Guillet. They are HVE certified (Haute Valeur Environnementale), an accreditation recognising and promoting bio-diversity and sustainable agriculture.
From their 60-year-old vines, they produce wines from Morgon and Chiroubles. Chiroubles has granitic, sandy, stony soils producing fruity, younger drinking styles of wine, and the Morgon Côte du Py has a very firm, stony terrain which produces more age-worthy wines. They use a ‘systeme de grillage’ for increased contact with the skins to bring out the full character and potential of the wine.
