Sustainable and vegan milk chocolate brand HiP has launched in WHSmith locations last week.

The range of four of the brand’s oat milk chocolate bars were launched in 120 WHSmith stores in airports, railway stations and service stations.

HiP vegan chocolate brand aims to offer customers a healthy oat-based healthier alternative to milk chocolate that can be enjoyed while travelling.

The range includes the Smooth & Creamy, Cookies No Cream, Salted Caramel and Salty Pretzel flavours.

The brand’s vegan chocolates contain no dairy and have 35% less sugar and 41% more cocoa than traditional milk chocolate bar.

It uses oat milk to produce its chocolate which is more sustainable and has minimal environmental impact compared to dairy milk.

The company uses only slavery-free, single-origin cocoa and the products come with plastic-free packaging.

HiP means Happiness in Plants and was created by James Cadbury, the great-great-great grandson of John Cadbury from the chocolate pioneers dynasty Cadbury. The brand was created to target the growing number of vegans, flexitarians and eco-conscious customers in the UK

Commenting on the launch, James Cadbury said: “HiP offers consumers something unique — a compelling dairy free chocolate alternative. The combination of superior taste, premium flavours, quality ingredients and standout, eco-friendly packaging makes the range really attractive for those looking for a tasty, sweet treat to enjoy on the move. We’re thrilled to have secured this listing with WHSmith Travel.”
