Wagamama Unveils Special Veganuary Menu

Restaurant chain Wagamama has unveiled a new Veganuary menu for 2021 and announced commitment to make 50% of it's menu completely meat-free by the end of 2021. 

The new Veganuary special menu features plenty of delicious plant-based dishes including a veganized version of chilli squid and sticky ribs. 

Wagamama’s vegan squid is made with king oyster mushroom and it will be served with a dipping sauce made of chilli and coriander. 

Vegan Sticky Ribs are made from a combination of mushroom and soy protein. The Firecracker curry is now available with tofu. 

 The vegan version of Grilled Duck Donburi, features shredded seitan and shiitake mushrooms coated in hoisin sauce.

Peterborough-based restaurant chain has also ensured that 50% of its main menu would be meat-free by the end of 2021 as a part of campaign called ‘Small Choices, Big Change.’ The company launched the campaign in response to growing climate concerns to encourage more people to trying plant-based diet.

Wagamama CEO Emma Woods said in a statement:  “We believe that vegan choices should be so delicious that everyone should want to include in their lives, whether a strict vegan or someone who has never thought of themselves as a vegan before.

“As Covid causes us all to press pause on so many things, let’s make sure we fast forward the small decisions which can better our planet”.

The new menu launching on 5th January.
