Veggie Pret has announced the launch of its largest vegan menu ever.

The company is launching 15 new vegan dishes at Veggie Pret shops in London and Manchester. The menu will be available on 21 January 2020.

The menu features a selection of healthy vegan Poké Bowls, Smoothie Bowls and Buddha Bowls to “offer more choice to customers throughout the day.”

Pret is focusing on using fresh ingredients to attract those looking for more interesting and healthier breakfast and lunch options.

The new range of vegan Poké Bowls includes two vegan options such as Sashimi-Style Watermelon Poké Bowl (£5.50) and The Marinated Tofu Poké Bowl (£5.50).

The new Sashimi-Style Watermelon Poké Bowl is filled with avocado, edamame beans, pickled cabbage, carrot, and radish and sashimi-style watermelon in place of tuna, finished with a tamari and ginger dressing and sesame seeds to add a delicious depth of flavour.

The Marinated Tofu Poké Bowl comes with tofu marinated in tamari and ginger combined with garlic and chilli pickled cucumber, mango, and pickled cabbage.

There are five new fresh and fruity flavours of smoothie bowls available at Veggie Pret stores, priced from £3.75, as well as Apricot & Pistachio Overnight Oats (£3.25).

Flavours of new smoothie bowls include Raspberry & Coconut, Acai & Almond Butter, Tropical Green, Cocoa, Nuts & Berries and Mango & Banana Sunshine.

All the smoothie bowls are made from blended fruits, topped with an array of nuts, seeds, fresh berries and nut butter.

Buddha bowls include Humous, Sweet Potato & Kale Buddha Bowl (£5.25), a healthy meal of brown rice with dressed kale and a dollop of Pret’s humous, mixed with roasted sweet potatoes, chipotle chilli sauce, avocado, almonds, and smoky carrot ribbons.

Sweet Potato Falafel Mezze Salad Bowl (£4.50) makes the lighter lunch option. It comes with sweet potato falafel with chargrilled red peppers and a dollop of humous. The bowl is served with pickled cabbage and carrot, sliced cucumber and a pot of French dressing and finished with pumpkin seeds and fresh pomegranate seeds.

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Pret’s Global Head of Food Innovation, Hannah Dolan, said: “This launch is an opportunity for us to establish Veggie Pret’s menu, offering customers something different to what they have seen so far.

“We wanted to put a real focus on creating new vegan dishes, so looked at where we could use vegetables and fruits to deliver flavour, rather than mock meat or fish.

“Perfect for customers taking part in Veganuary, or just trying to eat more plant-based food, we’d love to know what customers think and what they would like to see next from Veggie Pret.”
