Next week, the Vegan Women Summit (VWS) is hosting a live Virtual Gathering featuring vegan leaders across three generations.

The event will feature speakers: filmmaker and actress Jasmine Leyva, activist and content creator Haile Thomas and vegan influencer Tabitha Brown.

Together, they will lead a discussion focused on the intersection of race and veganism and how to support both the Black community and the vegan community.

Jennifer Stojkovic, Founder of VWS, said: "This event, which is the ninth in our Virtual Gathering Series, will bring together three of our returning speakers for a crucial conversation on the intersection of race and veganism. We hope this event provides a learning opportunity for our attendees to better understand how supporting the Black community intersects with supporting the vegan community, why this work is important, and how they can become a better ally."

Vegan Women Summit was founded in San Francisco, California. The organisation aims to educate, empower, and inspire women leaders to spread compassion.

The first physical summit took place in February 2020. It featured vegan women leaders in the plant-based industry, including Miyoko Schinner - the founder of Miyoko's Creamery and Aisha "Pinky" Cole - the  founder of Slutty Vegan.

Due to the pandemic, the group launched the online Virtual Gathering Series in March. The event is designed to educate, inspire and provide support for the viewers around the world.

The next virtual meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 23rd. It is free to attend, but the number of participants is limited. Attendees can support the organisation with a donation.

Jennifer Stojkovic added: "VWS events are open to attendees from all backgrounds. We encourage any and all who are interested in learning from these incredible speakers to attend."
