February was a busy month indeed here at The Vegan Kind! We saw new appointments and promotions to drive the business forward, exciting product launches, celebration of our 100th Lifestyle Box, and much, much more.

LOVE Raw’s Milk & White Peanut Butter Cups - with each new product launch from LOVE Raw, the world of vegan snacking holds its breath in excited anticipation. Believe us when we say, these beauties do not disappoint! Plant-based chocolate snacking at its finest - this time with a peanut butter twist!  

Griddle’s Chocolate Chip and Cinnamon Bun Pancake & Waffle Mixes - Here just in time for Pancake Tuesday, Griddle are new kids on the block specialising in sustainably produced, low sugar, whole grain breakfast treats that taste incredible. Give ‘em a try!

Deliciou’s Bacon Seasoning - This past Lifestyle Box favourite was so popular you couldn’t get enough of it, and we were more than happy to oblige. Tastes delish on a whole host of your favourite vegan meals and snacks including baked potatoes, pasta dishes, and even (if you dare/ how dare you) popcorn!

La Fauxmagerie’s Balham Blue and Clapton Chive - Plant-based cheesemakers and big favourites here at TVK have blessed us with not just 1 but 2 brand new vegan cheeses. We’re not worthy, we’re not worthy, etc. Let us know what you think!

The Lifestyle Box was The Vegan Kind’s first-ever product way back in 2013, and has moved from strength to strength ever since with thousands of happy customers licking their lips in anticipation every month. We can’t quite believe so much time has passed! We’re extremely proud of our ever-evolving vegan snack box packed with forever favourites and brand new launches, and can’t wait to celebrate box 200 together!  

Easter will be with us sooner than you think (17th of April to be exact) and we have been gradually filling up the supermarket with all kinds of eggtastic sweets and treats including our lovingly curated Hoppy box - an ideal Easter gift for that someone special in your life - and our biggest and most varied range of Easter Eggs ever! On Pancake Tuesday the office was drolling with ideas as we shared our favourite sweet and savoury pancake toppings. 😋

Feb saw the loss of our highly-valued supervisor Heather who is off to seek a new life in St Andrew’s. Best of luck, Heather, you’ll be missed! Her job was contested by 7 highly capable candidates. When the final bell rang and the boxing gloves were removed, only one could come out victorious - congratulations to our new Warehouse Supervisor, Sinéad! 

More congrats are in order for no less than 3 brand new appointments at TVK HQ. Tony Buffin is our new chairman, Richard Burns our Front End developer, and Paul Baxter our new Digital Designer. Tony brings a wealth of experience in business with an extensive CV that includes CEO of Holland & Barrett, CFO-then-CEO of Travis Perkins, and CEO of The Loyalty Group (Nectar Card) to name but a few! Richard will be keeping all the zeros and ones in line to avoid any website mishaps or breakdowns (invaluable!), and Paul will be in charge of thevegankind.com’s UX (User Experience) to make everything from checking out, signing up and navigation as simple and customer friendly as possible. We feel extremely fortunate to have you all on board and can’t wait to see what the future looks like going forward!

Senior Buyer Jenna celebrated her 7 year anniversary with The Vegan Kind on 2nd Feb! Jenna was employee 001 (after founders Scott & Karris) and has been an invaluable asset to the company ever since, working in just about every role available before settling into her current position as Senior Buyer for Cheese, Yoghurts & Desserts, Snacking and Confectionary, and Subscription Box Manager. She’s a busy bee indeed and we feel lucky and proud to have her around so long! 

Love was in the air throughout the first half of February! There was lots of beavering away behind the scenes creating our Valentine’s themed collection including lots of romantic gift ideas to pamper and cosy up with next to your special person. Highlights include the Tyson Valentines Bundle - our TVK-mascot-shaped vegan chocolate cake and some cute love heart sweets, Booja Booja’s delightfully sharable Gourmet Selection and Sunday Rain’s Acai Berry Bubble Bath for an aromatic, long romantic soak in the tub.

Warehouse Operative and animal rights campaigner Alan brings some good news in the fight against fox hunting in Scotland!

Alan: The Scottish Government has introduced the Hunting with Dogs (Scotland) Bill that will replace the 2002 legislation that inducted loopholes allowing fox hunting to continue. We can’t underestimate how significant this is - not just for the foxes but the hounds and horses who are also mistreated.

Every time you check out at The Vegan Kind Supermarket we plant a tree for the planet. After 12 months of collaboration with our partners at Ecologi, and thanks to all our lovely customers, we have now planted over 88,000 trees and removed over 640 tonnes of carbon! The numbers keep rising every single day and we’re super excited to watch our communal forest grow absolutely massive, year after year after year. 🌲
