Astounding Turnout at London’s Official Animal Rights March: 10,000 passionate & fearless vegans come together to stand up for the voiceless.

The Official Animals Rights March is a global event organised by UK animal rights organisation Surge and currently takes place in 25 cities all over the world. On Saturday the 25th  August, the London march took place and the attendees doubled from 5,000 in 2017, to a staggering 10,000 passionate vegans. United as one, the crowd took to the streets, finishing at Hyde Park, to show their support against animal oppression and cruelty.    If you simply read the comments on the Surge Activism Instagram page (@surgeactivism), the day was not only a success for the cause, but it also brought some of the reported 3.5 million vegans in the UK alone together; inspiring them to not be scared in having a voice for the voiceless.    Since 2016, the event has doubled every year in size, a sign that more people are beginning to take notice and make the change to a lifestyle that helps save millions of animals and the planet. We understand that transitioning to a vegan lifestyle can be quite daunting when others around you don’t have the same views. The Official Animal Rights March is a place where like-minded people can come together, connect and do their part to better the world we live in.    At TheVeganKind, we also strive to be a space where people can come together and feel part of a strong, caring and supportive community. We are extremely proud of the part we have played in helping grow the vegan population and will continue to do so through our passion and love for the cause; as well as the incredible support we receive from all who visit TheVeganKind.

Earthling Ed, a well-known vegan activist and speaker at this year’s march, has summed up the day and everything it stood for just perfectly;    ‘The Official Animal Rights March aims to foster a sense of unity in the vegan community across the country and indeed the globe. We are all in this together, we are not alone.’ Earthling Ed, @earthlinged    The Official Animal Rights March is a fantastic event that we hope to help double in size again next year and for all the years that follow.
