Hospitality group for the modern nomadic travellers Selina has opened its fifth hotel in the UK. Selina Camden will host a 100% plant-based restaurant, Powerplant.

The property situated in front of The Roundhouse is a hub for the local vibrant music scene, making it perfect for after-parties and post-gig stays for artists and gig-goers and those visiting London.

The interior design of the hotel uses bold colours and patterns mixed with the historical and music-inspired artwork on the walls. There is a record station in the lobby where guests can listen to your favourite tracks.

The guests can choose from thirty stylish rooms (rates starting from just £119). Selina Camden offers a range of accommodation options, including a corner suite, a loft room, dorm rooms, a family room, and a terrace suite with views of both the London skyline. The rooms were designed in collaboration with Selina's workshop team to reflect Camden's creative community.

"We're thrilled to finally open and bring our unique Selina concept to such a thriving and bohemian London neighbourhood that's bursting with culture and style," said Rafael Museri, CEO & Co-Founder of Selina. "With a range of striking rooms and an amazing plant-based restaurant, we can't wait to become firmly embedded in the local community and welcome everyone to the perfect London crash pad and eatery for tourists and Londoners alike."

With the opening of Selina Camden, the group launches its first entirely plant-based restaurant concept. The Powerplant will offer an authentic culinary experience with a range of innovative, delicious plant-based dishes.

Powerplant's morning menu includes breakfast bowls; Falafel Waffle served with fresh tomato, fermented turnip aubergine and cucumbers, mango curry dressing, onions, tahini, and micro herbs. A "Bacon" Bap made with streaky "bacon," tomato, lettuce, rosti and brunch sauce, and various Breakfast 'Eggs' options, including Huevos Rancheros made with silky tofu, smoky tomato sauce, avocado, Padrón peppers, pickled onions, coriander, and crispy plantain.

Lunch and dinner menu includes a plant-based Bibimbap and Aubergine Tartare made with grilled aubergine, tahini, pistachio, rose petals, "feta," micro herbs, olive oil, lemon, and sea salt served with Naan, Grilled Watermelon served with "feta," oregano, and pickled onions, Berber Jackfruit served with tahini and kale-slaw in a soft Yemen pancake or the signature Powerplant Burger.

Ariel Levinsohn, Selina Global Brands & Creative, said: "Apart from the obvious environmental impact and health benefits of a plant-based diet, what Powerplant aims to show is that a plant-based culinary experience is as exciting as any non-plant-based restaurant and more. Combined with specially curated fun and alternative cultural programming from London's creatives, we are very excited to bring this concept to life in Camden and later this year to Europe and the US."

Powerplant concet aims to expand globally and open new locations in Lisbon and Washington DC. The brand aims to collaborate with local chefs in every destination to deliver a unique culinary experience to every restaurant.
