UK’s popular meat-free brand Quorn and the leading pasty maker Ginsters have partnered for the third time to launch a vegan version of peppered steak slice.
The new pastry is made with marinated Quorn pieces with onions and potatoes in a peppercorn sauce made from peppercorns, garlic and Dijon mustard, packed inside a plant-based puff pastry brushed with coconut milk. It can be eaten cold or warmed up in the oven.
Ginsters MD Kieran Hemsworth told The Grocer: “We want to set out a blueprint for innovation and growth within chilled savoury pastry.”
“Consumers want to try meat free and are more inspired to do so with a flavour they know and love.”
The vegan version of the classic will launch on October 12 in the shops across the country.
So far, Ginsters and Quorn released a vegan sausage roll and a vegan pasty.
