Award-winning Qatar Airways is the first airline in the world to offer its passengers a 'fully vegan' à la carte menu.
The new vegan menu includes tofu and spinach tortellini, scallions and shiitake, smoked moutabel, Asian barbecue tofu, spiral courgettes and arrabbiata sauce, noodles, fried tofu with vegetable tajine, chickpea flour omelette, cauliflower couscous and kalamata bruschetta.
The dishes are prepared using only fresh locally and internationally sourced ingredients.
The airline says the new menu is designed to cater to a growing demand for plant-based food.
"We always strive to provide our customers with authentic and indulgent experiences in the skies," says Qatar Airways Group CEO His Excellency Akbar Al Baker.
"We are delighted to incorporate a vegan main course choice to our on-board menu, offering our passengers yet another lifestyle choice that redefines the expectations from a five-star airline."
Qatar Airways' vegan menu is available in business class on all flights from Doha's Hamad International Airport, and selected flights into Doha. Economy Class travellers can pre-order special vegan meals ahead of travel.
Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best Airline’ by the 2019 World Airline Awards, ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’, ‘World’s Best Business Class’, and ‘Best Business Class Seat.’
