Vegans and flexitarians will be able to enjoy pizza with vegan cheese at the UK's biggest pizza chain.
Pizza Hut has just announced it will be adding vegan cheese for delivery options.
Announcing the news, Pizza Hut revealed that 19% more customers are buying vegetarian pizzas.
The chain will be offering pizzas for delivery with plant-based cheese from popular vegan brand Violife.
The Violife cheese will become a permanent item on the menu at 350 restaurants after a trial run this summer.
Neil Manhas, MD and CFO of Pizza Hut UK and Ireland, said: "At Pizza Hut, we're always improving our menu choice without compromising on taste.
We know meat-eaters and vegetarians alike are increasingly looking for more plant-based alternatives to our pizza menus, so we are continuously searching to bring delicious innovations to the table."
It is not the first time Pizza Hut is offering options for those following a vegan diet. Back in 2020, Pizza Hut was the first restaurant chain to offer plant-based meat toppings from Beyond Meat on their pizzas. The chain also previously launched a Vegan Stuffed Crust - developed using Violife’s vegan cheese which followed the success of the Vegan Pepperoni Pizza, launched during Veganuary 2020, resulting in nearly 40,000 vegan pizzas sold within the month of January.
