Every year PETA selects Most Beautiful Vegan Celebrities, and this year the crowns are going to Jessie J and James Arthur - UK’s biggest chart-topping artists and proud vegans.

Jessie and James are actively supporting the vegan movement. They are encouraging others to be compassionate and follow a vegan and cruelty-free lifestyle.

PETA wrote in the announcement: “They are living proof that sticking up for others is the stuff of real beauty.”

Jessie has been vegan for almost a year. She says that a plant-based diet is helping her manage chronic pain related to fertility issues. She shares delicious vegan meals with her 8.7 million followers on Instagram and she is an animal advocate spreading the vegan message when appearing on TV.

James has been vegan for two and a half years. He went vegan after watching the documentary What the Health, and adopting a plant-based diet has helped him lose weight and feel better. “There’s a misconception that you’ve got to get all your protein from meat, but the meat gets the protein from plants.” - he said.

PETA wrote on its website: “He is a vocal advocate of the benefits of plant-based eating”.

In addition to the verdict, PETA wrote: “True beauty comes from within – and that makes these celebrities attractive inside and out.”
