Only What You Need - Stella McCartney's Vegan Cosmetics Launch This Week

Through her beauty products, Stella McCartney aims to promote environmental responsibility.

Fashion designer Stella McCartney has partnered with LVMH to launch her new beauty brand, Stella by Stella McCartney.

The new brand reflects McCartney's sustainability philosophy of using 'only what you need.' Through her beauty products, Stella McCartney aims to promote environmental responsibility.

The vegan skincare line includes three products: Reset Cleanser, Alter-Care Serum, and Restore Cream. After two years of research and development, the team at the LVMH R&D centre created vegan cosmetics that are environmentally responsible and also effective. The brand uses the best botanic ingredients with minimal impact on the planet. The entire range comes in an eco-conscious refill packaging.

Stella said in the statement: "The line-up is a culmination of two years' worth of innovation and exploration with LVHM's research and development teams.

"We set out with an idea, and because we didn't want to compromise – on results, the origin of our ingredients, and ensuring we minimised our impact on Mother Earth – we kept on trying."

She added: "Constantly evolving and aiming for what I felt was possible: rooted in nature, truly effective and responsible skincare. I believe the consumer needs to know there's another way, that they have a choice".

The brand will donate 1% of the net sales to the conservation charity Wetlands International.
