Popular vegan food company One Planet Pizza has launched a new spicy vegan pizza featuring Spicy Mexicana cheese.
The Spicy Mexicana Melt is made with tomato sauce, Vegan Mexicana cheese, Tofurky chorizo crumble, green peppers, red onion, sweetcorn, and jalapeños.
Joe Hill, the co-founder of One Planet Pizza, told Plant Based News: "We've been waiting for a long, long time at One Planet Pizza HQ to create a spicy plant-based pizza that would rival, if not better, existing conventional spicy and hot pizzas you can find at traditional takeaway restaurants.
"We think The Spicy Mexicana® Melt is a game-changer for plant-based pizza lovers, and a fantastic animal-free upgrade for meat-reducers alike. We're proud to be the first brand to use Mexicana Vegan on a pizza, and can't wait for you to try it, if you can handle the heat."
Senior brand manager for Mexicana Vegan, Lisa Harrison, added: "We are delighted to partner with One Planet Pizza to launch the 1st ever Mexicana Vegan Pizza. It has a light crispy base, great tasting tomato/faux chorizo crumble sauce, and the perfect amount of melting Mexicflavorsan cheeze.
"The cheeze works particularly well on pizza because it melts just like real cheese and all the flavours of Mexicana, including the unique Mexican spice mix and the real Bell and Jalapeño peppers, can all still be tasted even when it's melted. We hope you love it as much as we do – it's fantastic."
