OmniFoods, the company behind plant-based meat alternative OmniPork, announced the collaboration with the Chinese restaurant chain Royal China.

The companies worked together to introduce an extensive vegan menu in London’s Royal China Club, bringing an exciting twist to classic Dim Sum and Hong Kong Chinese dishes.

Located in Marylebone in the heart of London, Royal China Club is regarded by many as the best Chinese restaurant in the city.

Infusing Royal China's longstanding tradition of award-winning, culinary excellence with a consciousness towards the environment and one’s health, the collaboration aims to demonstrate that kindness towards our planet and ourselves can be the new normal - and without compromise.

Entirely vegan menu incorporates OmniPork Mince, OmniPork Strip and OmniPork Luncheon into 12 mouth-watering Cantonese flavours, including novel twists to classic Dim Sum dishes such as Deep-fried OmniPork “Siu Mai” with Dried Chilli & Garlic, Steamed BBQ OmniPork Bun (Char Siu Bao), Poached Chilli Dumplings Stuffed with OmniPork, as well as plant-based options of the chef’s specials such as Braised Tofu Stuffed with OmniPork and Grilled OmniPork with Lotus Root Patty in Spicy Sauce.

Commenting on the latest collaboration, David Yeung, Founder and CEO of Green Monday and OmniFoods, said: “Royal China is such an icon in the UK Asian food scene. We are honoured and excited for OmniPork products to be featured on their menu. Reimagining many Dim Sum and traditional dishes in plant-based forms will definitely provide excitement for vegans and meat-eaters alike. Personally I simply can’t wait to try them myself.”

OmniPork is a super realistic plant-based pork alternative made from a proprietary blend of pea protein, non-GMO soy, shiitake mushrooms and rice. The product has already received overwhelmingly positive feedback in the UK and is now available in various restaurants and supermarkets across the UK, including TheVeganKind Supermarket.

Impressed by OmniPork’s succulent nature and versatility, Royal China’s award-winning chef Billy Wong, said: “It was a big surprise to me when I first tried the OmniPork Luncheon and Strip. The texture, taste and colour have no difference compared with real meat, it works well with any ingredient and seasoning. Most importantly, it is healthier than real meat as it contains no cholesterol or hormones, and is rich in protein and iron.”

The new vegan menu at Royal China Club will be available for takeaway and delivery starting from April. It will also be available for dine-in once restrictions are lifted.
