Meatless Farm Sales More Than Doubled Thanks To Vegan Demand

Vegan products are gaining more popularity as consumers switch to healthier diets and eat less meat for both health and ethical reasons. 

Vegan food producer Meatless Farm has been named the fastest-growing brand in the meat alternatives sector by market researcher company Kantar.

According to data from industry analysts Nielsen, Meatless Farm's sales surged by 149 per cent in the 12 weeks to 25 January 2020 compared with the same period in 2019. That number accountant only for retail, not restaurants and bars. 

Meatless Farm was founded in Leeds in 2016 and launched its first products in supermarkets in October 2018. 

The company spent over two years creating recipes and developing its plant-based range. Today, it offers vegan mince, sausages and burgers that look and taste like real meat products. 

The alternative meat products are made from pea protein, brown rice protein and soy protein.

They have the same level of protein as meat, but half the saturated fat.

The company aims to improve people's health through better eating while supporting the environment and reducing the world's dependency on intensive farming.

Meatless Farm products are available in major supermarket chains, online shops including TheVeganKind Supermaket, and foodservice chains across the UK.
