Better than Veganuary, it’s Vegannually: Leading European plant-based meat producer, Eatplanted, brings its products to the UK market.
Swiss gourmet plant-based meat poducer Eatplanted has just launched in the UK. With products ranging from smoky BBQ plant-based pulled pork to flavourful lemon and herb chicken, Eatplanted brings a transparent inhouse manufacturing process and ‘plant to plate’ approach to theUK vegan industry.
Using a very short list of clean, high-protein, plant-based ingredients to create its products, Eatplanted has turned the industry standard practice for production on its head, and even invites all stakeholders to its factory to see the production process for themselves. The Eatplanted chicken pieces, for example, are made up of just water, pea protein, pea fibre, rapeseed oil and vitamin B12. This refreshing take on healthy, transparent production paves the way for fast-paced growth within an industry that has recently come under fire for not always being as healthy as it once claimed.

Leaning on the powerful force of the Veganuary challenge, which launched in 2014, Eatplanted wanted this launch to do more than just bring new products to market. With the Vegannually event, and the underlying message to support it, the company hopes to encourage our ever-growing health and eco-conscious population to maintain a more plant-based diet throughout the rest of the year, and not just in January.
Dr Toni Vernelli, International Head of Communications and Marketing at Veganuary, said: “2022 has been the strongest year for Veganuary in our history. More than 625,000 people from nearly every country in the world signed up to our 31-day vegan pledge this year, and more than two million people have now taken part in Veganuary since we launched in 2014. We’re so pleased to see other like-minded organisations continue the success of our campaign and promote the idea of eating a plant-based diet all-year-round.”
The bespoke culinary event, which took place at the stunning Chameleon restaurant in London, saw guests served a fine-dining menu featuring Eatplanted’s products. The brand’s in-house Chef and menu curator, François Pouillon, demonstrated the best cooking technique for the products first-hand through creating several show-stopping courses.
Pascal Bieri, Co-founder of Eatplanted, commented: “When we launched Eatplanted, our goal was to harness the power of plants to produce a product that hit the mark in terms of taste, texture, and quality, while removing the need for animal suffering and the detrimental environmental cost of the livestock industry. By creating products high in protein that consist only of clean ingredients and no additives, it has never been easier for consumers to swap out meat for a plant-based alternative and protect the planet. We are so proud to play our part in working towards making the world a better place bite by bite.”
Eatplanted is the world record holding biotech business spun off from the Swiss Technical Institute of Technology (ETH) in 2019 and has taken the European market by storm. Alongside other international accolades, Eatplanted ranked first at the TOP 100 Swiss Start-up Awards and received the Best Alternative Chicken Product Award at its first UK exhibition, the Plant-Based World Expo, in 2021.
Eatplanted has launched a UK web shop and set up a sustainable supply chain to bring its products to millions of British consumers throughout 2022.
