Fast food restaurant chain McDonald's is launching a range of plant-based meat alternatives called "McPlant" next year.
McDonald's announced it would add plant-based chicken nuggets, burgers and breakfast sandwiches to its regular menu.
"We are excited about the opportunity because we believe we have a proven, delicious-tasting product," said Ian Borden, who heads McDonald's international operations.
McDonald'sdid not reveal which supplier it would use for its McPlant range of products.
Earlier this year, the fast-food giant trialled a plant-based burger made with Beyond Meat in Canada.
Plant-based meat producer Beyond Meat insists it co-developed the meat alternatives for McDonald's.
The company said in a statement: "Beyond Meat and McDonald's co-created the plant-based patty which will be available as part of their McPlant platform."
