Hong Kong's plant-based meat maker Green Monday has announced a partnership with McDonald's to launch a meat-free menu at fast-food giants' restaurants.
The new plant-based menu will roll out at all 280 McDonald's and 122 McCafé locations in Hong Kong and Macau.
The menu features six new dishes containing pork alternatives produced by Green Monday's food tech branch OmniFoods.
The dishes include OmniPork Luncheon & Scrambled Egg Burger, OmniPork Luncheon N' Egg Twisty Pasta, OmniPork Luncheon Deluxe Breakfast and OmniPork Luncheon Jumbo Breakfast, OmniPork Luncheon & Egg Cheesy Toast and OmniPork Luncheon & Egg Mayo Ciabatta. The dishes are 100% plant-based, vegetarian-friendly and cholesterol-free.
In Hong Kong, over 70% of people eat luncheon meat at least once a week.
The McDonald's and Green Monday partnership is a step ahead for the fast-growing plant-based meat industry.
