London-based Neat Burger, the vegan chain backed by Lewis Hamilton, has launched its first plant-based fish burger, named the Filet-no-Fish.

The new sandwich is made with sustainably sourced jackfruit cooked in breadcrumbs and served in a bun with lettuce and tartare sauce.

Neat burger is also planning to open at least five further UK restaurants this year. The business has currently three London locations in Mayfair, Camden and Soho. As part of expansion plans it will launch its fourth site in March in Victoria and  four more restaurants across London until August including Canary Wharf  site that's due to open in April. Six more London locations are planned for later this year and three in 'major cities' around the UK.

Zack Bishti, co-founder of Neat Burger, said: “A lot has changed since the Fillet-o-Fish launched in 1962 and formed the fish burger scene we see today – with man first landing on the moon, colour TV, creation of the internet and smartphones – but fish burgers have remained the same. Neat Burger thought it was about time for a change, giving consumers a tasty fish-alternative!”

The chain has also plans for international expansion considering more location in Europe, the US and Middle East.

Neat Burger is the first plant-based fast food chain in the UK.  Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton,  hospitality organisation the Cream Group and Italian entrepreneur Tommaso Chiabra invested in the chain in 2019.

The menu is available on Deliveroo across London.
