Now we finally know what is coming to KFC for Veganuary.

The popular fast-food chain is launching a vegan Imposter Burger nationwide this week.  KFC trialled the Imposter Burger in several locations in London, Bristol and the Midlands last summer and the sandwich was extremely popular among the customers, with demand over 500% higher than expected. The burger sold out within four days and the chain has since been bombarded with pleas to make vegan burger available nationwide.   Now, the meat-free option will stay on the menu for good.  The plant-based staples will include the iconic Original Recipe flavour that was created back in 1952 by the Colonel. The chicken breast fillet is replaced with a vegan Quorn fillet, coated in herbs and spices and served with lettuce and vegan mayonnaise. The burger costs £3.99.   Ira Dubinsky, from KFC UK and Ireland, said: ‘The Colonel was all about welcoming everyone to his table – now vegans, flexitarians and our fried chicken fans can all enjoy the taste of our Original Recipe together. ‘We’ve worked hard to perfect the flavour and make a Vegan Burger the Colonel would be proud of. It’s the flavour of KFC, just with zero chicken.’   KFC’s vegan initiative received support from PETA.  Dawn Carr, Director of Vegan Corporate Projects at PETA said: ‘We are delighted to have played a part in KFC’s journey to bring quick, affordable, vegan options to a new audience. ‘There is no doubt this vegan burger will be a huge hit with the skyrocketing numbers of vegans, vegetarians, and flexitarians around the UK. Clucking marvellous!’

The KFC Vegan Burger will be available in all the locations nationwide from 2 January.
