Fast-food giant KFC has teamed up with the maker of vegan and vegetarian meat alternatives Quorn to grow its meat-free menu offerings across Europe.
The market expansion follows the successful launch of the KFC Vegan Burger in the UK. The sandwich that features Quorn chicken fillet coated in the Colonel’s secret recipe batter of 11 herbs and spices was very popular in the UK and became a permanent option on the KFC menu in January this year.
Thanks to the newest partnership Quorn's meat free chicken will be available in several thousand restaurants in many European countries, including Germany. The brand has been working KFC to develop new vegan and vegetarian dishes, from plant-based meat buckets to veggie wraps.
Commenting on the collaboration, Peter Harrison, Chief Commercial Officer at Quorn, said: “To cater to the growing demand for meat-free food around the world, we’re delighted to be working with KFC in more markets following the success of the KFC Vegan Chicken Burger in UK and Ireland.

Quorn brand was founded in 1985 by Marlow Foods and has been promoting vegan and vegetarian food from before it was trendy. The company makes makes nutritious meat alternatives based on mycoprotein, a protein-rich, sustainable food source that is packed with fibre, low in saturated fat, and contains no cholesterol.
