Jane Goodall Institute is launching its first-ever plant-based cookbook. The book titled #EatMealtess: Good For Animals, the Earth & All will hit the bookstore shelves on March 23, 2021.

It features an exciting collection of 80 plant-based dishes with beautiful images for a perfect meatless breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. All the recipes are accessible and sustainable for cooking at home.

The book was crafted especially for curious consumers looking to incorporate healthier food options and those interested in environmental sustainability and animal welfare.

The Institute wrote on their website: "The timing and importance of this expansive and beautiful cookbook cannot be understated as we face some of the greatest challenges of our time including the climate crisis, unparalleled habitat loss, millions of animals suffering in factory farms, and the spread of zoonotic disease. This is an urgent issue, as scientists forecast that pandemics like COVID-19 created by a zoonotic spillover event will be one of many if we do not fundamentally change our current systems, including animal agriculture. As a solution, this book provides a proactive and approachable way for individuals to understand their role in embracing plant-based lifestyles through inviting and exciting recipes and reflections."

Jane Goodall, who has been a life long vegetarian and recently turned vegan, wrote the book's foreword and shares quotes. Her wisdom tips for readers throughout the book makes it an inspiring guide showing the way to change our broken food system and help our planet.

"It's becoming more and more clear that the obsession with eating meat and dairy products and eggs is totally destroying the environment. It's creating methane, it's wasting water, and it's bad for our health," she said.

As Dr Goodall often reminds us that plant-based eating isn't just better for the environment — it's also healthier. She says that it's never too late to change your diet and offers a simple tip for meat eaters: Start by going meatless one day a week.

"Vegan food used to be tasteless and awful," she says, but these days "really good vegan cooking is some of the best I've ever tasted."

Dr Goodall and the Jane Goodall Institute launched the #IEatMeatLess campaign to encourage people to think more critically and act more consciously regarding the consumption of meat and animal products for the sake of our planet and the other animals.

As she often says: "You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make."

Join the #EATMEATLESS pledge by going plant-based and reducing the negative impact food choices have on the environment, and other humans and animals, both locally and worldwide.
