The maker of iconic British biscuits Jammie Dodgers has announced it has changed the recipe which means its jam-filled treats are vegan again!

Jammie Dodgers used to be 100% plant-based in the past. Vegan fans across the UK were frustrated and heartbroken when the company changed the recipe adding dairy to the accidentally vegan biscuits.

Now, the brand decided to reformulate the recipe making the iconic snack suitable for vegans again and claiming the biscuit “still tastes just as good”.

The new plant-based Jammie Dodgers will be rolling out at stores across the country starting on 13th July. The biscuits come with new packaging design and logo to make it easier for customers to spot which packs are vegan-friendly.

Kate Needham, marketing director at Burtons Biscuits said: “We have listened to our biscuit fans and are pleased to announce that we’ve moved once again to a dairy-free recipe.

“Family fun is at the Jammie heart of our brand, so it’s important to us that the whole family – and families of all lifestyles – can share a pack. Thanks to the new recipe, we’re happy that will now be more possible.

“But that’s not all, with our household classic seeing a surge in popularity, you can expect to see lots more fun and mischief coming from the UK’s favourite Jammie biscuit brand going forwards.”
