India's Goodmylk Announces Vegan Cheese Launch

Indian dairy-free brand Goodmylk is expanding its portfolio of plant-based products with the launch of its vegan cheddar cheese.

Announcing the news on their website, the company wrote: "Cheddar – cultured plant-based cheese that grates well melts like a dream, and is clean label."

The vegan cheese samples are available to buy through the company's website. 

"This is a product that is under development and will launch after we fine tune it based on customer feedback," the company wrote.

Goodmylk is one of the fastest-growing vegan food start-ups in India. 

  The company raised USD 400,000+ in their second seed round from some of the most prolific investors in the vegan business space, including Elisa Khong, Sandeep Singh, Ginni International Ltd, and VegInvest, who previously invested in Just Eat, Rebellious foods, Veggie Grill and Nutpods.

The brand offers a wide range of dairy-free alternatives, including cashew and oat milk, plant-based butter, vegan mayonnaise, vegan chocolate and curd made from peanuts which debuted last year. 

The popularity of plant-based diets is rapidly growing in India. According to data from 2019, 63% of Indians were willing to switch to vegan dairy and meat alternatives. 

Live Yum Foods, Soft Spot, Mystic Foods and Katharos. The latest study on Indian markets shows that the local meat alternatives market is estimated to reach over USD47.57 million by the end of 2026.

Until now, the customers in India can find vegan cheeses from brands such as Violife, Live Yum Foods, Soft Spot, Mystic Foods and Katharos.
