Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen Includes First Ever Vegan Contestant

Chef Gordon Ramsay who once said he's "allergic to vegans" has just welcomed the first ever vegan chef to his show. 

A vegan chef Josie Clemens is one of the competitors on the latest American version of “Hell’s Kitchen” on FOX.

The 24-year old from Detroit is among 18 contestants from around the US competing this season. 

Clemens wrote on her Instagram profile: “The thing I’m most excited for about this show is the fact that 6 million people who normally watch a meat cooking show are about to be exposed to veganism. Whether it be their first or their hundredth, they’re about to see veganism planted in mainstream media.”

The 20th "Hell's Kitchen" season takes place in Las Vegas, where Gordon Ramsay has five restaurants, including Hell’s Kitchen at Caesars Palace. 

The winner of this season will be offered a job position as the Head Chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris Las Vegas.

Michelin-starred Ramsay has been embracing plant-based cooking in last months. He recently published a vegan tutorial explaining how to cook a vegan eggplant steak on his TikTok account. The video reached over 13 million views. Some of his restaurants have also started offering vegan options on the menu.
