Once allergic to vegans, now a flexitarian diet follower who is advertising vegan products. Gordon Ramsay has gone a long way from anti-vegan chef to vegan food promoter. Although he is neither vegan nor vegetarian himself, he now says he is trying to reduce his meat and dairy consumption to be a good example for his kids.
In his latest interview for Yahoo!, he said that the hardest thing to give up was dairy. He said: "As a chef, I would be lying if I said I didn't want to indulge in rich dairy like butter, cream and milk. Oat milk really helped me to maintain that richness in a healthy way. My father passed away at 53 of a heart attack because of a poor diet. I want to set a good example for my children."
When asked about the benefits of a plant-based diet, he said: " It re-energised my love of food and made me more creative in the kitchen. It's too easy with a filet mignon. It has made me dig deeper, which is a huge advantage."
Recently, Gordon Ramsay joined America's number 1 plant-based milk brand Silk's community of GOAT ( "Greatest Oatmilk of All Time") ambassadors. Silk named him as the GOAT of Yelling in Kitchens.
Commenting on his new collaboration with a vegan brand, Ramsay, said: "Well, it took my kids getting on me, but now I really enjoy cooking more plant-based dishes at home and in my restaurants. Let me tell you, I know greatness when I taste it, and I am loving Silk Oatmilk for both sweet and savory recipes."
In fact, a national taste test in the US has recently declared Silk as the best-tasting Original Oatmilk. Now Silk is celebrating its new status as the "Greatest Oatmilk of All Time" in a GOAT-filled campaign. Being the best means being recognised by the best, which is why Silk has partnered with the greatest in their own fields—from chefs to movie stars, including Alicia Silverstone and Gaby Butler—to welcome Silk Oatmilk to the club.
Alicia Silverstone said: "I love cooking and eating, and even fancy myself quite the foodie; so, I was excited to taste the GOAT of oat milk. This is amazing! Silk Oatmilk is so rich, creamy, and delicious. I love it in smoothies and my son loves it straight out of a glass."
In just two years, oat milk has risen from a newcomer in the plant-based space to one of the most frequently bought plant-based staples.
"The oat milk segment is hotter than ever, and we had a unique opportunity with Silk Oatmilk to come in strong and beat out the competition with our Original Oatmilk on taste," said Derek Neeley, Silk vice president. "We put so much time and energy into crafting the best-tasting Original Oatmilk, and we are honoured that America—and fellow GOATs—agree."
