Goats Take Over Empty Streets Of A Seaside Town In Wales
A wild herd of about 122 Kashmiri goats has taken over deserted streets of a seaside town in Wales.
They are now walking around the town of Llandudno, eating hedges and flowers from gardens.
The goats normally reside on the nearby Great Orme Country Park land, and they used to visit Llandudno occasionally during lousy weather.
The town councillor Carol Marubbi believes the lack of people in the streets because of coronavirus lockdown has drawn them to town this time.
She said they probably realised something unusual was going on because there were so few people around.
"They are curious, goats are, and I think they are wondering what's going on like everybody else," she said.
The animals have been spotted walking on the streets and nibbling flowers all around the town.
Marubbi said the goats were a well-known local attraction and most residents did not mind having their hedges nibbled by them.
"I'm a big fan," she said. "I love them because they are characters."
She added that everyone in Llandudno was "very proud" of the goats, and they had been providing "free entertainment" to people from their windows.
