Plant-based desserts brand Freaks of Nature has announced the launch of two new vegan desserts that will delight the fans of classic British puddings.

Freaks of Nature are launching the UK’s first-ever plant-based and gluten-free Trifle and an Apple Crumble pots.

The delicious vegan trifle features layered strawberry compote and gluten-free sponge topped with vanilla custard and a dairy-free cream alternative.

The Bramley Apple Crumble is made with delicious apple pieces topped with a gluten-free oats crumb.

The new vegan desserts will roll out to supermarkets across the UK from mid-July.

Freaks of Nature's desserts are specially produced to meet the needs of people with dairy, gluten and egg allergies.

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Freaks of Nature’s Marketing Manager Lucy Figg said: “We are so excited to share these new sweet treats; they are going to give plant-based consumers more choice.

“In fact, we think they could be game-changers, no other brands are producing a really delicious plant-based layered fruit trifle or apple crumble which tastes just as good as the ones your Mum makes!

“If you simply prefer plant-based foods, you can now indulge in two of the nation’s favourite desserts.”

Freaks of Nature aims to be more eco-friendly with their new packaging. Both desserts are packaged in recycled and fully-recyclable plastic, oven and microwave proof pots.

Freaks Founder Peter Ahye added: “Despite the lockdown difficulties we have been forging ahead. We’ve invested £1m in capacity at our factory in Yorkshire so that we can expand our range of delicious desserts whilst being as eco-friendly as possible.

“The new sustainable packaging we’ve sourced reinforces our commitment to minimising our impact on the environment.”
