Actor Jack Black has said he wants to adopt a vegan diet to help the climate crisis and he thinks that everyone should do the same.
The actor appeared on a WIRED Autocomplete Interview together with the rapper and comedian Awkwafina who co-stars with him in his latest movie ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’. They were answering the most Google searched questions about themselves.
One of the questions was: Is Jack Black actor vegan?
Black responded: “No. But I would like to be. I am in spirit and, really, it’s time for everyone to consider that lifestyle. Why? For the environment. It turns out that I found out that vegans are better for the environment.Why? Cow farts.”
He referred to the high amounts of greenhouse gas emissions caused by animal agriculture. According to the latest studies, livestock accounts for about 15% -20% of global greenhouse-gas emissions and has an enormously negative impact on the environment. Adapting to a plant-based lifestyle and removing meat from the diet is one of the solutions for fighting global warming.
Black’s new film Jumanji: The Next Level will be released this week and co-stars Kevin Hart—who revealed his plans of switching to a plant-based diet with earlier this year.
