The dairy industry has been in trouble for a long time, and the farmers have to adapt to times.

UK dairy farmers who want to switch to growing crops for dairy-free milk can take part in a competition organised by PETA. All they have to do is tell what motivates them to make a transformation of their business.

Dragons’ Den‘s Deborah Meaden will provide the winner with a 15-minute one-on-one business consultation via Zoom to help them get started.

The winner will be selected based on their ‘motivation and enthusiasm for making the transition from dairy farming to growing plants’. Applicants also have the opportunity to win a half-day professional consultation on their farm with agriculture experts from Tolhurst Organic on how to successfully transform their business from dairy farming to growing organic vegetables or crops.

Dairy farmers can apply until 10 August 2020 by sending an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Ready to Try Plant-Based”. The email should include: name and contact information, information about the current situation and a paragraph about the reasons to explore making the transition from dairy farming to growing plants

The competition is open to UK residents only. The winner will be announced on 14 August 2020.
