David Attenborough To Teach Kids During Lockdown

David Attenborough is joining BBC to teach kids on TV during coronavirus lockdown.

Sir David will be hosting live-streamed geography classes as a part of the BBC's new educational program "Bitesize Daily -  for kids staying at home during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The renowned historian, conservationist and broadcaster will educate children on topics like mapping the world, the world's oceans and animal behaviour. 

The classes will cover material from his Life on Earth and The Living Planet documentary series.

David Attenborough's latest film project A Life On Our Planet was due to premiere on April 16 at the Royal Albert Hall, but it has been postponed due to the pandemic.

Attenborough, 93, is among reputable experts leading lessons as part of the BBC's plans to offer relief to parents who struggle with homeschooling kids during the lockdown.

BBC's educational program will run for 14 weeks. The project includes hundreds of live classes given by more than 200 teachers. Many of them are famous faces including, Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who), One Direction's Liam Payne, politician Ed Balls, Professor Brian Cox, and Eastenders actor Danny Dyer.

Alice Webb, director of BBC Children's & Education, released a statement: "We said the BBC would be there for people through this crisis, and we meant it."

"It's vital that every child is able to continue learning — and the lessons we're putting on will make sure they have fun at the same time," she added.
