Dairy giant Danone has released its first plant-based Actimel range which is suitable for vegans.
Actimel 100% Dairy Free is made using a blend of roasted almonds and oats along with living cultures, including AL. Casei, and essential vitamins B6 and D.
The new drink is low in sugar, contains no preservatives, colourants or artificial flavours and is 100 per cent vegan. The shots are available in two flavours Mango & Passionfruit and Blueberry.
“We’re really excited to bring our decades of experience in live cultures and immune support to the plant-based world with the launch of our Actimel 100% Dairy Free shots,” commented Sarah Dossett, marketing director at Danone Essential Dairy & Plant-Based UK & Ireland.
“We know that many people are looking for options that fit their flexitarian diet, and we wanted to offer them the Actimel they know and love in both dairy and dairy-free options.”
The new range comes in recyclable bottles. The product is priced at £2.99 for a pack of six.
Danone is preparing a big advertising campaign on social media in mid-September.
