The OCA Therma boots are Cariuma’s first 100% vegan boots.
The OCA Therma is a boot version of Cariuma’s OCA High sneakers. Perfect vegan shoes for those who like the classic sneaker look but want to keep warm this winter!
The boots are made with ultra-tough vegan suede, premium faux 100% recycled shearling for warmth and ethically tapped rubber outsole for harsh winter conditions. They are built to last, with a water-repellant upper crafted while using zero hazardous chemicals with an ultra-low carbon footprint.
The boots still give back in the traditional Cariuma way as the brand focuses on its own place in biodiversity, having planted over 2 million trees so far.
Cariuma plants two trees for every pair of shoes sold. The programme is run by the brand’s own team and is focused on overall reforestation of the rainforest in Brazil.
Most of Cariuma’s trees are planted in the Atlantic forest biome where only 11% of their original forest covering has remained. This forest is home to a large number of animals – one of the most relevant biomes in the need to be restored.
Cariuma is committed to having part of their trees planted in indigenous land, enhancing indigenous culture and knowledge offering jobs to 70 indigenous people (Guarani people and Tupiniquim people) who work for the programme.
