The new flagship restaurant located on Leicester Square will serve an entirely plant-based menu, including vegan versions of some of Burger King's most popular dishes.

The new flagship restaurant located on Leicester Square will serve an entirely plant-based menu, including vegan versions of some of Burger King's most popular dishes.

Fast-food fans can try Plant-based Whopper and Vegan Royale, as well as over 15 exclusive new items - all cooked without meat.

The list of new dishes features 'Cheeeze & Bakon' burger, Plant-based Bakon Double Cheeeze XL and Vegan Cheeeze & Bakon Royale launched for the first time ever among other options such as Vegan Nugget Burger, Plant-based Double Cheeezeburger and Plant-based Cheeeze & Bakon Whopper.

Delicious sides such as Vegan Nuggets and Vegan Onion Rings, and the recently released vegan Katsu range will also be available at the restaurant.

Burger King pledged to donate 10p to Trees for Cities for every Plant-based Whopper or Vegan Royale sold in the UK during one month.

Additionally, the chain announced its plans to launch a special plant-based menu for kids.

The meat-free site will operate for a limited time, from 14th March to 10th April.

All the dishes featuring plant-based meat alternatives are made with Unilever's Vegetarian Butcher products.

Burger King's move of opening an entirely meat-free restaurant was applauded by animal rights charities.

Dawn Carr, from PETA, said: "PETA applauds the UK's first all-vegan Burger King – a whopping great step in the right direction for animals and the environment. The planet needs a game-changing shift away from meat to combat the climate emergency, and Burger King is leading the way.

"We love its expanding meat-free range: from the Vegan Royale to the Vegan Nuggets, these plant-powered, protein-packed meals appeal to both vegans and meat-eaters!"

Laura Iliffe, from The Vegetarian Butcher, commented: "At The Vegetarian Butcher, we believe that plant-based foods should be just as tasty as meat and our juicy range of meat-free products prove just that – showing that consumers don't need to sacrifice a thing when making a plant-based switch.

"By powering Burger King's plant-based offering and first meat-free restaurant in Leicester Square with our Plant-based Whopper, Vegan Nuggets and Vegan Royale – all of which are available nationwide - we're providing meat-lovers the chance to cut-down meat without compromising on taste. We challenge you to taste the difference!"

The Leicester Square plant-based restaurant will be opened only from 14th March until 10th April.
