BrewDog Collaborates With The Vegan Kind On New Pale Ale

Scotland's most innovative beer brand BrewDog has developed a new 5.5% pale ale in collaboration with The Vegan Kind, the largest plant-based online retailer.

Two Scottish sustainable businesses have worked together on an exclusive craft beer that positively impacts the planet.

Scotland's most innovative beer brand BrewDog has developed a new 5.5% pale ale in collaboration with The Vegan Kind, the largest plant-based online retailer.

Both companies, from their inceptions, focus on challenging the norms and charting a new course for businesses to balance profit with people and the planet.

The unique vegan beverage can be enjoyed by thousands of beer drinkers across the UK who signed up for BrewDog & Friends subscription boxes.

The recipe features sultana and Columbus hops combined with Vienna malts to create a pale ale flavoured with citrus, pineapple and pine.

In the tasting notes, BrewDog says: "Together with The Vegan Kind, we've conjured a 5.5% pale ale that nods to the celebrated West Coast style. A lively bitterness is accentuated by baskets of ripe pineapple, bright citrus notes and hints of pine."

The limited edition beer comes in 330ml cans carrying both BrewDog and The Vegan Kind branding, and it will be included in BrewDog & Friends subscription box that will ship to customers in February.

The BrewDog & Friends is the brewer's monthly beer subscription service. Priced at £19.95 for one month, it features exclusive beers you can't find anywhere else. Each box contains eight beers (four from BrewDog and four from Friends), all brewed at the company's headquarters in Ellon, Aberdeenshire.

This Veganuary edition of BrewDog subscription is a perfect planet-friendly vegan gift for craft beer lovers or someone special in your life. By purchasing one box, you are helping to offset 1.24kg CO2.

All the beers featured this month are vegan. The January box includes The Vegan Kind - 5.5% Pale, BoxCar - 6.5% Black Ale, Libertine - 7.2% Black Ale, NewAlbion - 6.0% Porter and the BrewDog magazine.

Commenting on the collaboration with The Vegan Kind, BrewDog, said: "Pioneers of plant-based groceries, hellbent on making the vegan lifestyle accessible for all. From daily essentials to luxury items, meat-free food to ethical fashion, they've got a wealth of products from some of the most sustainable brands in the world."

The Vegan Kind CEO, Scott McCulloch, said: "I've been a massive fan of BrewDog for several years and regularly enjoy their beers so it's fantastic to launch this collaboration between them and The Vegan Kind.

"We know that BrewDog community are deeply passionate about our planet and making carbon-conscious choices with their food and drink, so we are really excited to collaborate. With a plant-based diet being reported to reduce your carbon footprint from food by up to 73%, we hope fans of BrewDog can join in on the TVK mission to Make Plant-Based Living Effortless."

BrewDog is an independent craft brewer located in Ellon with a global chain of pubs. Since 2007 BrewDog has been on a mission to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as they are.

Glasgow-based The Vegan Kind is the UK's most popular vegan subscription boxes service and plant-based supermarket, stocking over 5,500 ethically sourced grocery and household products.

You can subscribe to BrewDog & Friends box on the brewer's website.
