It takes hundreds of years for plastic to decompose. Only 14% of plastic is recycled and 30% leaks into the environment; if demand for plastic continues to soar, as is expected, we could have more plastic in the oceans than fish by 2050. Concerned? Rightly so. Interested in reducing your plastic consumption, but not too sure where to start? Start right here! We’ve compiled a list of 5 simple tips to reduce your plastic consumption.

1.       Ditch the plastic straws and keep a straw on you!

2. Carry a reusable coffee cup

3. Bring reusable bags for your shopping
