25% Of UK Vegans Are Aged 15-24 - The Vegan Society Brings Back Youth Membership Offer

Interest in veganism is at an all-time high amongst young people.

The Vegan Society has relaunched its Youth Membership offer aimed at those aged under 26. The Youth Membership costs just £5 for 12 months and help us create a more compassionate and sustainable world.

It’s currently estimated that around 25% of all vegans in the UK are aged between 15-24.

Meanwhile a new survey published by BBC Good Food last month found that 8% of children aged five to 16 are already following a vegan diet, while 15% said they would like to be vegan.

Commenting on these results, Stephen Sanders, Supporters Services Coordinator at The Vegan Society, said: “Whether it’s using TikTok to educate others on animal rights and welfare, peaceful school strikes to demonstrate the damage we’re causing the planet or just a general concern over health and wellbeing - there’s no denying that children are leading the charge when it comes to important social issues. That’s why we are so excited to relaunch our Youth Membership.”

“The Youth Membership is not only accessible financially but unlocks access to resources that will provide inspiration and guidance for young people on the vegan way of life. Fully vegan, almost-vegan or just vegan curious; wherever you are on your vegan journey, The Vegan Society is here to help.”

The list of benefits for those signing up is long.

Like full membership, signing up for Youth Membership means you will get access to 10% discount on multivitamin VEG 1, and over 100 third party discounts including those on vegan clothing, vegan chocolate and vegan beauty products. The discounts are there to help with every aspect of living a vegan lifestyle and even places to go on holiday.

As part of being a member you will also get a subscription to the digital version of The Vegan magazine which features essential updates on The Vegan Society work as well as interviews with influential vegans, plant-based recipes, competitions, advice, shopping and more.

You can read more about our Youth Membership and sign up by visiting Become a member | The Vegan Society.

The special Youth Membership offer ends on 31st January 2022.
