This year's Met Gala will dine on a very different type of cuisine, as the menu will be entirely vegan.
Organised by Anna Wintour, the major fashion industry event is bringing out some of the vegan culinary world's most prominent chefs.
Guests attending this year event will be served an entirely plant-based menu. The vegan dinner will feature vegan dishes from 10 notable New York-based chefs and food influencers, selected by Marcus Samuelsson and Bon Appétit.
Among the selected chefs representing the best vegan dining scene there are Junghyun Park of Atomix, Aquavit executive chef Emma Bengtsson, Le Bernardin pastry chef Thomas Raquel, Fabian von Hauske of Wildair and influencer Sophia Roe, Fariyal Abdullahi, Nasim Alikhani, Lazarus Lynch, Erik Ramirez and Simone Tong.
The chefs will work on a collective menu of canapés, entrées, and vegan desserts. They will share their vegan recipes for "summertime picnic" on Instagram Reels under the hashtag #MetGalaChefs.
The move comes as the world of Haute cuisine and fine dining, just like Haute fashion brands, start to rethink the use of animal-based products and promote more sustainable and cruelty-free options.
One of New York's finest restaurants Eleven Madison Park, announced earlier this year that it would adopt a mostly plant-based menu.
