Peanuts, the gold standard that pretty much all nuts are measured against, and if they’re not, they should be…Ok so I made that first bit up but peanuts are probably the most recognisable nut there is; they are certainly the most commercially popular nut and they are of significant global importance too. Its not really hard to see why when you find out that world production currently sits at 46,000,000 Tonnes a year!!!

Peanuts also provide a means to really explore Thai cooking as peanuts are a frequent flyer along side Sesame Seed, equally so they fit snugly in lunchboxes as they are or better yet in a mix for long lasting, well balanced and enjoyable energy.

Peanuts definitely pack a nutritious punch for their size, stuffed full of Protein as well as copper, manganese, B Vitamins, molybdenum, phosphorus and Vitamin E. They fare exceptionally well when you consider how good they taste, unfortunately despite the high production volume and the equally high benefits of eating peanuts, many products wind up being less than healthy, in favour of flavour. Try to avoid salted peanuts where possible and take it easy on the peanut butter to really get the most out of them.
