Tread carefully the first few times you try the mat as the spikes can be a bit much for some people. If this happens relax on a chair and rest your feet on the mat, gently lean forward supporting your upper body by placing your hands on your knees which in turn will slightly increase the pressure of the spikes on your feet. On subsequent uses of the mat slowly increase the pressure on the spikes until you can stand upright or you could try experimenting with the pressure by wearing socks.
