You can now enjoy a perfect vegan breakfast at Veggie Pret!

Pret a Manger has launched a brand new vegan bakery counter at all of its Veggie Pret stores and added eight new vegan treats to its menu. Pret is also the first high street coffee chain in the UK to remove all non-vegan products from sale.

The new sweet plant-based menu includes three vegan croissants, two vegan brownies and three vegan muffins, making up a selection of 10 vegan-friendly treats along with the existing vegan bakery items - the Very Berry Croissant and the Dark Chocolate & Almond Butter Cookie. Pret's plant-based puff pastries are made using margarine and sunflower oil to re-create the texture of traditional crispy French dough.

The new line of vegan muffins includes raspberry and coconut muffin, vegan choca mocha muffin and banana and walnut flavour that's made with pieces of dates and walnuts.

The range of Pret's new goodies also features two delicious brownies for chocolate fans: The Ultimate Vegan Brownie and The Vegan Hazelnut and Caramel Brownie.

Clare Clough, UK MD of Pret, said: "We're really proud to be the first high street food-to-go retailer to launch a unique concept like this. Expanding Veggie Pret's offering for our vegan customers has been a huge focus of our food development over the last year and moving to an entire vegan bakery is very much the result of that.

"Our previous vegan bakery products, like the Dark Chocolate & Almond Butter Cookie and The Very Berry Croissant, have always been big hits with customers – vegan and non-vegan alike," she added.

"In the first few weeks of the Very Berry Croissant being on sale, it sold more than double the amount per day of the non-vegan jam croissant it replaced – so we can't wait to hear what our customers think of these new treats!"

The new items will be available from Tuesday, July 21, for takeaway and delivery via Pret Delivers, Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats.
